Owning a pool is not just about sitting back and relaxing and enjoying it......As with anything it comes with a cost to maintain and clean, and occasionally there are bigger jobs to undertake.

Back in the spring of 2024 we noticed a small dark patch on the wall tiles of the pool and suspected that we had a rust issue where the water had permeated through the concrete and was causing the metal below the surface to oxidise. If left untreated this could become a big issue.

So we took the decision to not only drain the pool but also to raise the depth of our pool to make it more useable on a day to day basis.

In this video we look at why we are doing this and the process stage by stage as it happened from deconstruction to adding salt to the water as the last act. You can find the time codes below for each stage of the build.
